Missed It By A Country Mile

Missed It By A Country Mile:

Missed It By A Country Mile

As a hunter, it is very important to hit what you aim at or you will come home empty-handed. That should go without saying, but it is true. If we don’t hit the mark, then you might as well say, we missed it by a country mile.

Missed It By A Country Mile

It takes practice and a little technique to consistently hit what you aim at.

  • If you flinch, you miss.
  • When you don’t breathe correctly you could miss.
  • If your gun site is off you will miss.
  • If you bow hasn’t been sited in, you miss.

There are some things you just can’t compromise or even tolerate in order to hit the target.  Disregard or neglect these things and without realizing it, you just missed it by a country mile.

Hit The Mark With The Word Of God:

The same is true with the Word of God. If we are not following, worshiping, and serving the God of the Bible, then, we are missing the mark and not just slightly, but you missed it by a country mile.

Actually, it becomes idol worship plain and simple. We tend to make a god from our mind and our imagination, but it’s not the true God of the Bible. When this happens, you will hear things like: my god would never do this or never do that, but is it what the Word of God says? Usually not.

Missed It By A Country Mile

The God of the Bible never changes, He never contradicts His Word, and He never compromises His Word for our sakes. It stays on target.

When we deviate from His Word only slightly, sadly, we have missed the mark. By how much you reckon? You guessed it, we missed it by a country mile.

Because We Care:

So, be very careful what people say is “ok” and more importantly, be very very careful when the government says it’s “ok” or even “legal”.

If it contradicts the Holy Bible and the God of the Bible, you better not go down that path. The reason is, if you’re not very careful, you will have missed it by a country mile!

Exodus 20:1, 3-6, the bible says; And God spoke all these words, saying, “You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

If we will stick to these promises found in God’s Word, and more importantly, the Ten Commandments, we will never have to worry that we “Missed It By A Country Mile”!!
